Cecon is an ascorbic acid supplement used to treat or prevent low levels of vitamin C for people who cannot get it adequately from their diet.

Ascorbic acid, or vitamin C, is obtained naturally from foods and fruits such as potatoes, tomatoes, citrus, and leafy vegetables. It is an essential component in the body for maintaining muscles, blood, bones and connective tissues. It also helps with iron absorption, which is needed to produce new blood cells.

Therefore, a deficiency of vitamin C can stop these processes from happening naturally and lead to several health complications, hence the need for Cecon.

Dosage

Take the medication by mouth with or without food; the recommended dosage increases with age and also depends on the level of vitamin C deficiency. So follow your doctor’s prescription and the instructions on the product package.

Do not take the medication in lower or larger doses than recommended, and do not take it for a longer or shorter period than recommended.

In addition, the chewable tablets must be chewed, and then capsules and non-chewable tablets should swallowed whole.

Side Effects of Cecon

Cecon (ascorbic acid) may cause serious side effects, so when you notice any of these, stop using the drug and contact your doctor immediately.

  • Diarrhea.
  • Nausea.
  • Vomiting.
  • Heartburn.
  • Stomach upset.
  • Weakness or tired feeling.
  • Joint pain.
  • Weight loss.
  • Increased urge to urinate.
  • Painful or difficult urination.
  • Blood in your urine.

Precautions

If you have any allergic reactions to vitamin C, do not take Cecon. Tell your doctor if you smoke, have kidney disease or a history of kidney stones or have hemochromatosis. In addition, the dosage for pregnant and breastfeeding women may be different, so let your doctor know if you fall under any of those categories.

When taken in recommended doses, Cecon is safe for pregnant women. It is also safe for infants, so breastfeeding mothers can take it.
